Path of Exile Synthesis New Skill Guide

Path Of Exile's Synthesis league begins on Mar 8th, replacing the present Betrayal league. Path Of Exile's subsequent league - Synthesis- is set to become the largest expansion to Grinding Gear Games free-to-play action RPG considering. Here are the latest skills guides for Path of Exile Synthesis, new skills, new experiences, come see it soon.

1.Bane

Bane is a new skill that instantly applies a damage over time effect in a large area. It also applies your linked curses to enemies, up to your curse limit. The damage over time deals more damage for each curse Bane applies (up to 47% more damage at level 20 of the gem). The effect has 50% increased duration for each curse Bane applies.

Bane has the Curse skill type, letting some modifiers on the passive tree like Skill Effect Duration of Curse Skills, Area of Effect of Curse Skills, and Cast Speed of Curse Skills apply to casting Bane. These passive tree stats have been updated to match this behaviour.

To further our effort to improve Chaos Skills, we've also changed the Blight threshold jewel. Previously, the Spreading Rot jewel caused enemies affected by Blight's Hinder to take 50% increased Chaos Damage. This damage bonus was significant enough that we had to balance chaos skills around using Blight and Spreading Rot. We've changed this threshold jewel to instead cause each pulse of Blight to also apply Wither for 2 seconds per jewel. This lets Blight easily apply a damage bonus that can be accessed by chaos characters via other sources if they don't happen to want to use Blight. As a result, we've been able to push the damage of chaos skills higher than before.

2.Soulrend

Soulrend fires a projectile that weaves through enemies, turns towards targets in front of the projectile and pierces through any enemies hit. As the projectile travels, it applies a damage over time effect in a medium sized radius to enemies. The damage over time effect is very potent, but only lasts a short duration.

When enemies are hit by the projectile they'll take a small amount of chaos damage and grant a large amount of Energy Shield Leech (4% at all gem levels). Although Soulrend is designed to work on its own for most encounters, it also works well alongside Essence Drain to combine their significant damage over time effects while restoring both Energy Shield and Life.

On that note, Essence Drain now applies its damage over time effect in a small area on impact. This should make it easier to apply the damage over time effect to a specific target if there are other enemies clustered around it.

3.Purifying Flame

Purifying Flame is a physical and fire spell that is accessible to you at level one. When cast, it sends a wave that, when it arrives at the enemy, deals damage in a circle around it and consecrates the ground. The spell then sends out a damaging shockwave that affects enemies in a large area on any consecrated ground. This does two things: finishes off surviving enemies from your previous Purifying Flame casts and creates interesting interactions with other sources of Consecrated Ground. Interactions to consider are the Inquisitor or Sulphur Flask's ability to Consecrate an area to allow Purifying Flame to damage multiple areas with a single cast.

4.Divine Ire

Divine Ire is a Level 28 channelled skill that damages a few nearby enemies while charging up power and then unleashing in a sudden deadly beam. It deals physical damage with 50% converted to lightning. It gains additional stages for each enemy zapped, with a chance to gain an extra stage from Normal and Magic enemies. It always gains an additional stage against Rare and Unique enemies. This lets you charge and unleash the beam rapidly if you position yourself well. The beam reaches maximum width at 10 stages, and maximum damage at 20 stages.

5.Wave of Conviction

Wave of Conviction is a new Level 16 skill that sends out a cone of force that deals physical damage with a conversion of 25% to fire and 25% to lightning to every enemy in the area the wave impacts. The wave lasts for a duration, which means that both area of effect modifiers and duration modifiers influence the total area the wave can reach. However, casting the skill again ends the current wave after a short time. This means that you can choose to cast the skill infrequently to hit a large area, or frequently to get more damage but less effective range before the duration ends.

Wave of Conviction also applies Fire, Lightning, or Cold Exposure to enemies, reducing their resistances. This debuff is applied based on the highest elemental damage type the skill does. This means that if you convert the physical damage to Lightning Damage, it'll always apply Lightning Exposure, granting -25% Lightning Resistance to enemies hit. This boosts the skill's own damage with repeated use, but also lets it function as a utility skill for casting on tough enemies alongside any other elemental spell.

6.Zealotry

Zealotry is a new holy themed aura that provides more spell damage, a small increase to spell critical chance, and a chance to create Consecrated Ground on hitting a rare or unique enemy. As Consecrated Ground now increases the chance to be critically hit on enemies within it, this further increases your critical chance. The aura works well with the improved Inquisitor Ascendancy, which has some new effects for Consecrated Ground like letting the Consecrated Ground continue to apply its effects for a few seconds after you, allies or enemies leave its zone.

7.Malevolence

Malevolence is a new arcane themed aura that provides more damage over time, and a small bonus to skill effect duration. It works best with chaos skills like the new Soulrend spell, but the damage bonus affects all damage over time effects like Scorching Ray, damaging ailments like Ignite and Poison, and cold damage over time abilities like Arctic Breath.
