Everything We Know About Fallout 76 Wastelanders So Far

According to what we gathered the latest news, Fallout 76 Wastelanders is bringing human NPCs (Non-Player Character) to Appalachia. Starting this Autumn, the Fallout 76 Wastelanders update will release a new story quest, branching dialogue, choices, and consequences, and, what's more, unique companions, as players will meet and interact with two new human factions: settlers and raiders. I sincerely hope that you have been working hard on your camps, cause you are about to have company soon.

For the information about Fallout 76 Wastelanders was revealed at E3 (The Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2019, and now, here is everything we have learned so far.

Right now, you can see the Fallout 76 Wastelanders E3 trailer above.

QUESTION 1: When Will The Fallout 76 Wastelanders Release

For now, we still do not know when exactly Wastelanders will arrive, but it's due in the Autumn of 2019. For Fallout 76 game, this will be a free update, and if it is anything like the Wild Appalachia update, Fallout 76 Wastelanders will not appear all at once but it will be spread out gradually over a few months, with major updates every few weeks and much smaller patches interspersed between them.

QUESTION 2: It Will Bring Human NPCs To Fallout 76 Game

Fallout 76's original idea was for the players to be the only living humans in Appalachia. The only NPC contact would be through Holotapes, Terminal Entries, Notes, and of course Robots.

But gamers missed having conversations and a dialogue system, and as it turns out, so did the developers. Jeff Gardiner, project lead for Fallout 76, told us at E3, he said "We realized in hindsight that what we do best is NPCs and talking." Therefore, they start working on bringing NPCs and dialogue back to the game shortly after launch in November of 2018.

QUESTION 3: How Will The Human NPCs Work In Fallout 76 Game

It will be a totally new system not unlike Fallout 4, although you are mostly going to be seeing these NPCs in instanced areas. "Obviously, if I kill (an NPC) in the game, other people need to be able to interact with that NPC," Gardiner said. "So they will be in closed areas, frankly, and other areas where we can control the environment better than an exterior (area)."

That is to say, these NPCs will not just be wandering around freely on the map, but you will have to go and visit them in some specific regions that are separated from the rest of the world.

In this game, you will be able to align yourself with either settlers or the raiders, even though that does not necessarily boil down to a simple choice between good and bad. " There will definitely be shades of gray," Gardiner added.

Again, Fallout 76 dialogue is meant to be experienced between a single player and an NPC, as opposed to an entire team talking to that NPC together.

Here is what we directly quoted from Jeff Gardiner: "The group system is, if you're on a team, the team leader will be ultimately the one driving the conversations, However, if you're outside and you want to talk to NPCs to advance your quest, you're gonna have to do a one on one, because we want to make sure everyone is experiencing the story, making the decisions and not just sort of following along with the team leader."

QUESTION 4: There Will Be Companions You Can Romance

Good news is, in Fallout 76 game, the settlers and raiders will each have unique companions available, and you will be able to romance them and then win their favor through dialogue and by finishing their personal quests. Just like Fallout tradition, your companions will have different views on your actions and they may approve or disapprove of the things you do.

However, the companions, will not be able to follow you everywhere in the world of Fallout 76. "The following part, right now, they are basically going to be in your campsite," said Gardiner. "Or in towns. We have technical limitations there, frankly."

QUESTION 5: There Will Be New And Best Fallout 76 Power Armor, Enemies, Weapons, And Activities

Fancy panning for gold? A shot in the E3 trailer shows someone doing just that in a river — potentially a river that is not irradiated (I hope), because they seem quite casual about it. Meanwhile, we also get a glimpse at a terrible new monster stalking around in the wilderness on long, fleshy legs, though we still do not know exactly what that creature is yet. We are told that there will be new best and unique Fallout 76 weapons and gear to acquire, but, unfortunately, we do not have details yet on what it will be.

We will continue updating this article as we learn more about Fallout 76 Wastelanders.
